Cost of living

What we’ll do

  • Lift incomes so people can live with dignity.
  • Strengthen welfare so whānau aren’t punished for being poor.
  • Back practical cost-of-living relief (including transport affordability).

Why it matters

When whānau can’t meet the basics, everything else around them breaks - their health, their learning, their stability and their safety. No whānau should be forced to choose between kai, rent, power, transport, medicine, or school costs. When the basics become unaffordable, dignity is stripped away. We will fight for an economy where our people can live, not just survive.
